MatAway Dematting Comb - Double-Sided 12 and 23 Blade Comb for Dogs
Work through mats and loose undercoat.
MatAway has two blade sides: 12 wider-spaced blades for tangles and mats, and 23 close-spaced blades for thinning and loose undercoat.
- 12-blade side for mats and tangles
- 23-blade side for thinning and deshedding
- Rounded blade edges
- Non-slip rubber handle
How to use it
- Hold the hair under the mat with one hand.
- Pick through the mat with the 12-blade side, using gentle pressure.
- Finish with the 23-blade side in the direction of hair growth.
Use moderate force, not heavy pulling. Stop if your dog shows pain or distress. Very tight mats may need a groomer.
FAQ
Will it hurt my dog?
Used gently, it shouldn't. Hold the hair close to the skin so you don't pull, work from the outside of the mat inward, and stop if your dog seems uncomfortable.
Can I use it on cats?
Yes, on cats with long or thick coats. Use light pressure.
When should I see a groomer instead?
Mats that sit tight against the skin or cover a large area are safer for a professional to remove.
Mats often start with loose undercoat; our guide on how to deshed a dog at home helps you stay ahead of them.
Free US shipping on every order. Orders dispatch within 2 business days; see our shipping policy for delivery times.
